     This document includes information and 
     instructions on how to get started with 
     ServoTerm 4 together with Vishay Nobel's instruments.

     1.What is ServoTerm 4
     ---------------------
     ServoTerm 4 is a VT52 terminal program intended for PC with 
     Windows10. 
     The program is for Vishay Nobel AB products where a PC terminal is
     required for parameter settings.

     2. Software installation
     ------------------------
     NOTE! If you have a previous version of ServoTerm 4 installed, 
     uninstall it before installing this version. 
     Use the Add/Remove program function in the Control panel to
     uninstall current version of ServoTerm 4.

     - Locate and doubleclick the setup.exe file.
     - Follow instructions on screen.


     3. Connections
     --------------
     ServoTerm 4 communicates with the connected instruments via a 
     serial port or USB port on the PC. In the normal case this 
     port is a USB port, and if the serial ports on the 
     instruments are RS485 ports, the connection has to go 
     through a USB/RS485 converter. If the PC has a built
     in RS485 port the converter can be omitted.
     Only 4-wire connection can be used.

     Make sure the converter is jumpered for 4-wire RS485 and
     that the bus is terminated.
     See also the instrument and converter manual for further
     information on how the serial port should be connected.

     4. Communication parameter settings
     -----------------------------------
     When the unit is connected, start the program from the
     'Start' menu by clicking on the ServoTerm 4 icon. Then set
     the communication parameters in ServoTerm 4 equal to those
     set in the instruments. If these are not known, refer to
     the instrument manuals for instructions. The ServoTerm 4
     'communication parameters' are found under the 'Communications'
     menu. Those Com-ports that are shown in ServoTerm 4 are those ports  
     that are active in the computer (compatible COM-ports are restricted 
     to 1-30).
